Your statistics are correct, but the culture change is likely still there


Sure the economic reasons had an effect, but I don't think anything supports that economic was more important than cultural; we despite the improving economy are still seeing a net loss of subscribers.

I suspect we are hitting an asymptote for the number of people willing to change given the current alternate service offerings. I.e. X% want sports at home; they will stay with cable TV no matter what until there is an option.
